Albus Brooks for District 8: Campaign Strategy and Messaging

The Goal: The Albus Brooks campaign faced what seemed to be an insurmountable challenge: pull together a top-notch team and best 37 contenders for the opportunity to represent District 8…and do it in three months.

The Strategy: Given the time constraints and low visibility of the race, conventional wisdom would have most teams focus solely on direct mail. But with 38 candidates vying for one seat, convention went out the window. To set Albus apart, OnSight organized a strong ground game to build Brooks’ name ID and engage the community in face-to-face conversations about Albus and his plan’s to create jobs in District 8. We backstopped the ground game with micro-targeted direct mail to maximize our resources.

The Team: OnSight Public Affairs, Rocky Mountain Voter Outreach, PV Endeavors, Campaign staff and volunteers

The Outcome: Albus came in first out of 38, winning the run-off election by 7 votes over Wil Alston. Three weeks later, he won the general election against Alston by a margin of 59.7% to 40.2%.
